Hello!
I am an educator and designer specializing in lighting, scenery, and projections.
Originally from Chicago, I spent many years based in New York City and traveling the world designing in all types of different venues ranging from storefront theaters to opera houses with more than 4,000 seats, retail stores, houses of worship, and more. My hundreds of productions have included theater, opera, dance, fashion shows, concerts, corporate presentations and many different kinds of events, including what I am pretty sure was a cult meeting...but that’s a story for another time.
I teach theatre design and technology at The College Preparatory School in Oakland, CA.
In my precious free time, I enjoy cooking, going to trivia bars (certainly came in handy when I was a winning contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire), bike-riding, flower-arranging, making obscure references to old TV shows, and taking way too many pictures of my dog.
I currently live in Oakland, CA with my wife Emily and our dog Carl,
I'll bet you have a fun project coming up; we should talk!
